After the end of WWI there was a big boom in the USA. Everyone had a job and the economy was flourishing. Everyone had money and was willing to spend it, so the USA became a consumer society. Because of this there were also big cultural changes. The radio became popular and this helped many musicians to become famous. Woman rights were also brought in and so women were allowed to vote. These boomtimes were called the Roaring Twenties.
The movie Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin showed the booming industry with the assembly lines.
