Summary
The Hungarians tought there would be a less harsh treatment after Krushchev gained power so the Hungarian leader announced that Hungaria would pull out of the Warsaw Pact. But Krushchev wanted make an example of Hungaria so Russia invaded Hungaria and lots of Hungarians were killed. The conduct of the USA was questioned afterwards because they didn´t help Hungaria because they didn´t want to risk a war with Russia.
