Summary
The Japanese attack and capture lots of countries around them to gain natural resources (oil). But they loose crucial battles against the American forces. The Americans start to take over one Japanese island after another. This process was called Island Hopping. In the biggest seabattle of human history, the Battle of Leyte gulf, the Americans destroy half of the Japanese fleet.
