Summary
Germany signed several peace treaties (Treaty of Rapallo, Locarno Pact) with other countries to show their good will. But France also signed several defense treaties against Germany. Very important was also the Kellogg-Briand Pact because it denounced war as a method of solving conflicts. There were also several attempts for worldwide disarmament (for example the Washington Naval Conference). Everyone thought these treaties were the starting points for an age of peace in Europe.
